Side Note: These tips are not any particular order as to how you would apply your makeup.
Concealer: Never use it as a base on your eyelids. This will cause your eyeshadow to crease and separate. Not a look that you want! Instead, use concealer to hide unwanted blemishes on your face or hide dark under circles under your eyes.
Foundation: There is no right way to put on foundation it all depends on the look that you are looking for. You can apply foundation on with your fingers if you want a more sheer and natural look. However, you can always use a foundation brush for a medium coverage.
Powder: A cardinal rule with powder is to always apply it first to where you get shiniest first. This is usually around your T zone area (bridge of your nose and above your eyebrows). Do a simple light dusting around the rest of your face. Don’t overdo the powder. It will make you look cakey. Not a good look.
Blush: Make sure that you choose the right tone for your skin tone. You don’t want to look like Bozo the Clown. We say this out of love! When you apply your blush - be sure to smile, and apply it to the apples of your cheeks. Then gently swipe your blush brush towards your jawline.
Bronzer: Bronzer is meant to warm up and even out your skin tone. Apply it on your face, neck, and chest (if you are wearing a v-neck tee).
Eyeshadow: The best part of eyeshadow that it is something that you can play with. This really makes your look since you can use a plethora of colors. Use the lightest tone in your palette as your base. Then slowly add other colors gradually by continuing with the lighter colors then add on top a darker shade if you wish. Don’t forget to use your base color near your brow bone!
Eyebrows: Lightly trace your natural eyebrows with an eyeliner pencil or powder. Don’t overdo it! Also, don’t make a block or square at the beginning of your brow. This doesn’t look well. Make sure to keep your eyebrow shape natural.
Eyeliner: There are more colors now that you can use for your eyeliner from yellow, blue, plum than just the traditional colors such as brown or black. Pick the best color that goes along with your eyeshadow. When you apply your eyeliner, don’t look directly in the mirror instead tilt your head and bring your chin close to the mirror. Look down when you are applying your eyeliner start at the inner corner and slowly work your way out.
Mascara: Apply your mascara at the root of your eyelashes and zigzag slowly out and up. Make sure to brush out any clumps!
Lipstick: Lipstick completes your look, so be sure to select a color that compliments your overall look. Start applying your lipstick from the cupids bow then extend out to the corner’s of your mouth before you blot!
